PDP Sorbeh at war in Sierra Leone

The late Thaimu Bangura will be turning in his grave as those in whose hands he left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are now at each other’s throat, threatening to rip the party apart.

A well placed source at the party’s headquarters at 179 Bye Pass Road, Kissy, Freetown  told this paper that the Chairman of the party, Dr. Prince Coker, and the Leader of the party Mr. Gibrilla Kamara, have taken members of the Executive Committee to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at Slater Terrace, Freetown, on allegations that they have planned to burn down both the party’s headquarter office and only official vehicle.

The source further disclosed that the party’s National Secretary General, Mr. Musa Tunis Bangura, National Chief Whip, Mr. Momoh Bangura, the Chairman of the Elders’ Committee, Mr. Ahmed Conteh, Mr. Alpha Sesay, and Mr. Nabie Kamara are reported to have been among those invited to the CID in connection with the allegations.

The source further explained that statements have already been obtained from the complainants while the suspects are reported to have refused to honour an invitation to the CID.

As we were going to press late last night it was reported that most members of the party now refuse to attend meetings as the tension in the office continues to mount.
