PDP Sorbeh party in limbo
Freetown, Nov. 11 (SLENA) – The interim leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP – Sorbeh), Mr. Gibrilla Kamara has been accused witch hunt as he attempts push some senior members of the party.
Reports reaching SLENA say ever since the November 2012 general elections, the PDP has not held a single meeting with its membership while the national executive members remain in limbo.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the party, Mr. Algasimu K. Sesay, their leader had mounting allegations after allegations against his party executive officials. The latest being that their, Mr. Kamara recently reported some members to the police on allegation that those members had planned to burn down the party’s head office in Kissy, east of Freetown.
The PRO also disclosed that Mr. Gibrilla Kamara is running the affairs as a one man show and in a rather disorganized manner which the members totally condemned.
Reports say earlier in November this year, the interim leader wrote to NEC and PPRC declaring that Mr. Algasimu Sesay was no longer a member of the party national executive and should no longer represent the party at any meetings.
Sources say Mr. Sesay’s sacked letter was never copied him but was verbally informed by the leader, Gibrilla Kamara. “Let it be known that with effect from today you have been sacked as executive member of this party,” Mr. Sesay quoted the interim leader when they meet on the street without stating reason.
Speaking to SLENA, Mr. Algasimu Sesay described Mr. Gibrilla Kamara’s action as arbitrary and dictatorial and will therefore not respectwhat he referred to as his unilateral decision.
When contacted, Mr. Kamara declined to comment.
