‘Pakistan nationals are in Sierra Leone legally to perform Islamic Dawah’ Abdulai Bayraytay reveals
The Public Outreach Coordinator in the Office of the Government Spokesman, Mr. Abdulai Bayraytay has stated that the Government still remains vigilant in watching the security situation not only within Sierra Leone but also in the international arena.
Addressing newsmen at the weekly press briefing at the conference hall of the Ministry of Information and Communications, he explained that the Police invitation of the seven Pakistan nationals to the Police Station was a friendly request which he said it came about after wide-spread rumours of threats from the Al-Shabab terrorist group in Somalia that they were going to attack any country that has deployed peacekeeping troops in their country.
He revealed that after thorough investigation, it has been established that the Pakistan nationals entered the country legally to perform the Islamic Dawah which he said was an essential tool to spread the Islamic faith.
He urged all Sierra Leoneans to be vigilant and report any suspicious people or movements to the nearest Police Station.
Mr. Bayraytay further stressed that President Ernest Bai Koroma remained dedicated and determined to ensure that Sierra Leone remains a steady partner to bring peace and tranquillity to Somalia, emphasizing how the President was very pleased to hear of the gallantry of Sierra Leonean Soldiers in peace keeping missions in Somalia and Sudan.
