Fuel Scarcity Hits Freetown – Private and commercial drivers said there is shortage of fuel in the respective fuel stations in Freetown. The situation remains the same across the city for almost four days to the present since last week. Displeased vehicle owners have slammed the actions of filling stations managers as ridiculous.
VP Escapes ACC’s Net – The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has on Monday April 16 slammed seven count indictment charges on Momoh Konte and Alex Mansaray both private businessmen. The two were accused of soliciting an advantage and conspired to commit corruption in the Aljazera timber documentary footage which also implicated the Vice President, Alhaji Chief Sam Sumana.
The Commissioner Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara said no evidence is available for him to charge the VP as the Commission does not meet the required evidential threshold for criminal prosecution against him and the paramount Chief Kandeh Finoh III of Gbendembu N’gowahun Chiefdom, Bombali District.
Charles Margai Says No Second term for Ernest – The embattled Chairman and Leader of the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC), Charles Francis Margai has said in Freetown that President Koroma is not going to have a second term chance.
He said his works are hunting him down the lather and the president is complacent with his responsibilities.
He said all President Koroma keeps doing is parading the streets of Freetown and across the country with lousy crusade that gives the impression that he is working when he is doing nothing.
African Minerals Workers Strike – Workers of the Africa Minerals Limited have staged a protest over backlogs of their salaries last week Friday. A cross section of causal workers on the railway tracks resorted into strike action as they also complained of unfavorable treatments they are being meted. The peaceful protest later developed into chaos and at least left a Toyota Jeep worth Millions of Leones burnt down.
