Murder at Wilberforce Military Barracks

Sierra Express Media understands that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Freetown is currently investigating a case of an alleged murder which occured within the Wilberforce Military Barracks. Freetown.

According to our investigations the deceased, Pessima was allegedly murdered in cold blood by a senior military officer, attached to the Wilberforce Military Hospital.

Pessima was a military officer relieved of his duties for stealing. Sources said Pessima went to steal at the residence of the Staff Officer in charge of the hospital.

An eye witness to the incident, one Mr. Sandy said the Staff Officer tortured the deceased and gave him some corrosive liquid which he drank.

He said the deceased fell immediately after he drank the liquid and he was rushed to the military hospital for treatment.

Mr. Sandy informed our reporter at the Congo Cross Police Station that he did warn the Staff Officer not to torture the deceased and that if anything happened to him (the deceased), as a result of his actions, he would prosecute him in a court of law or any legal means he is called upon to testify on the issue.

The deceased was treated immediately by the Staff Officer but failed to survive his ailing condition and passed away over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the military staff officer and six others including an ACCA student are being detained by the anti robbery syndicate at the CID headquarters helping the police in their investigations.
