Mr. Idiot: Idiot’s synopsis
The Man from Moyamba – Musa Tarawally is moving out of his orbit and this will inevitably lead to a serious crash but it seems the PMDC turned APC man is oblivious of the apparent danger looming in his path.
On the whole, Tarawally looks more like an outsider who weeps more than the bereaved in a funeral. When Musa Tarawally abandoned his colleagues in the PMDC and joined the APC, it seems he was so heady for his new party that he was ready to die to show President Ernest Bai Koroma that he is a hard working stalwart.
But in his aggressive approach to make himself seen and recognized, Musa Tarawally has stepped on various toes and in the process is giving a bad reputation to the Ernest Bai Koroma administration. No one needs to be reminded that this same Musa Tarawally was one of the fanatical SLPP supporters during the days of Solomon Berewa as Vice president. We also know that Musa Tarawally was a palm wine tapper in Moyamba before he metamorphosed into his present status. No wonder he is openly disregarding his own vice president.
Falley’s Folly – The not so honourable Robin Falley has clearly bit off more than he can chew. First, Falley had been strident in his promotion of democratic values, and even criticizing the president for what he repeatedly called tyrannical actions even though there is nothing tyrannical about President Ernest Bai Koroma.
Now that Fallay has been named by underage girls as the one who forged birth certificates for them so that they can register illegally, we have started seeing the real McCoy in Robin Fallay. Now that the not so honourable Fally has been spending time with common criminals in a police cell and later in a magistrate cell in Kenema, one hopes he will learn that life is not just smooth sailing. We will advice him to prepare for a long haul in cell not to forget that he might not even be around to take part in the 2012 elections. He will be in a prison garb, helping to carry shit as part of his duty. It is sad though for a man who once seen himself as an advocate for democracy in Sierra Leone’s Parliament.
We are worried that if Robin Fallay can have the temerity to forge birth certificates for school girls, what else is he liable to undertake all in an effort to deter democracy from flourishing in Mama Salone.
From Grace to Grass – Prison gates are becoming very impatient with Mayor Herbert Williams, the disgraced Mayor of the municipality of Freetown who has been indicted for corruption and is facing a long list of charges.
Mayor Williams came into the life of city dwellers when he was catapulted into the mayor’s parlor. With pomp and pageantry, he was seen all over the city and at one point he was actually seen strutting on the streets of the city clutching a cane in his paw as if he plans to trounce recalcitrant market women. Everybody seems to have some sort of admiration and respect for a mayor who was desperate to collect local tax by all means necessary, including making threats. What no one knew at the time was that the city father had other plans under his gown, but now that he has been nabbed by the ACC we wonder if he will survive this challenge. We hope he is not planning to flee though.
NRA’s Northern Factor– What is wrong in the NRA under the present headship of Haja Kallah? Mr. Idiot is concerned that the whole system is coming to a virtual halt through the open regional divide in the Authority. Why is it that the NRA boss only gives positions of trust to her Northern Region relatives? Why is it that the NRA boss is systematically laying off people who are not from the Northern region? Is this not a blatant case of tribalism? We are watching the NRA with a keen eye. Stay glued.
