Paramount Chief commends NaCSA
Bo, Jan. 21 (SLENA) – The Paramount Chief of Tikonko Chiefdom, Bo District, PC Kangbai Makavorie III has praised NaCSA (National Commission for Social Action) for organizing the just concluded week-long training of Community Management Committees on participatory planning, monitoring and supervision of Self Help Affinity Group for village development.
The training, which took place at the Pastoral Centre, Gerihun Road in Bo, drew participants from Bo, Bonthe, Moyamba and Pujehun Districts.
Speaking at the ceremony, PC Makavorie described NaCSA’s initiative as laudable and encouraged the participants to make good use of the knowledge gained during the weeklong training for effective service delivery.
Giving an overview of the training programme, NaCSA’s regional coordinator, Osman Jalloh said the training was organized in response to the Sierra Leone Community Driven Development (SLCDD) project with support from the Islamic Development Bank, through the government of Sierra Leone.
The training, he emphasized, focused on community empowerment and facilitation for better representation of NaCSA activities and to help in the development of their respective village plans.
He said participants are expected to replicate lessons learnt to community stakeholders in order to enhance good implementation strategy of NaCSA activities.
The deputy Chairman, Bo District Council, Martin Goba also spoke at the opening ceremony who warned participants that as Community Management Committees the success of the project largely depended on them.
