President Koroma Visits Ras Al Khaimah
President Ernest Bai Koroma has visited Ras Al Khaimah in honor of the invitation of Sheik Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Welcoming President Koroma and delegation, Sheik Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi expressed great desire to partner with Sierra Leone in order to attract new investments in the country. He therefore extended another invitation to President Koroma to visit Ras Al Khaimah so that they could hold in-depth discussions toward the transformation and development of Sierra Leone. The Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah informed President Koroma that a meeting will be convened on Sierra Leone during his holiday working visit to promote investment in the country.
He further stated that the government needs to prepare a case study which will be facilitated to ensure that investors and donors attend the conference. Sheik Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi pointed out that Sierra Leone needs to create a synergy with the Emirates and Ras Al Khaimah will be the middleman, and added that the city is the gateway to Asia.
President Koroma accepted the proposal for the working visit and the desire to partner with Sierra Leone to attract investment to the country. The President maintained that as a government, they will organize a donor conference to unlock the potentials embedded in Sierra Leone, noting that he looks forward towards making a reality of the proposal and to learn from their experience.
President Koroma also accepted the proposal for developing the energy and gas opportunities in Sierra Leone, and intimated Sheik Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi that Sierra Leone now has an enabling and friendly investment climate for doing business. He assured him of his personal support and that of government to ensure that the proposal becomes a reality.
President Koroma and entourage returned to Sierra Leone yesterday, 21st January.
