NaCSA Pours Le3.3 billion on Water Well & other Projects
The Commissioner of NaCSA, Bockarie Kokofele has, on Tuesday 22nd September, 2020 unveiled and formally launched the Le3.3 billion Water Well Project in the Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Kenema District.
Addressing a mammoth gathering at the Panguma Local Court Barrie, and in full compliance with COVID-19 health measures, the Commissioner emphasized that the project was part of the ongoing nationwide ADB/Sierra Leone funded water project worth $51.93 million implemented in four districts (Port Loko, Tonkolili, Moyamba, Kenema).
The Commissioner disclosed that a total of 22 Bore Holes and 18 Hand Dug Wells worth Le3.3 billion would be constructed in selected vulnerable communities throughout the Lower Bambara Chiefdom before the end of 2021.
Mr. Kokofele described the Water Project and several other Projects as the fulfilment of President Bio’s manifesto promises during the last Presidential campaign.
“It is my singular honour and obligation to ensure that all those promises H.E Bio made, including even those that were unfilled by the previous EBK administration, are accomplished in record time despite the current economic challenges posed by COVID-19” the astute and committed gentleman reiterated and assured that more projects are in the pipeline as long as President Bio continues to be at helm of governance.
He noted further that through H.E Bio’s magnanimity, state resources will be evenly distributed despite the fact that a certain region continues to nurture anti-government activities simply because their so-called government is not in power.
“As a disciple of President Bio, and as long as I remain as boss of NaCSA, myself and my hardworking team will reach out to all though not in one moment” Mr. Kokofele assured.
He therefore admonished indigenes of Lower Bambara Chiefdom to remain peaceful, calm and law abiding to ensure that rapid development takes place in the Kenema district in general and in Lower Bambara Chiefdom in particular.
During the formal symbolic handing over of the project to the Chiefdom stakeholders and contractors, the Commissioner admonished indigenes to embrace the project as their baby and fully cooperate and monitor the process.
Present at the ceremony and who also made meaningful contributions included the senior cadre of NaCSA, the Resident Minister East Hon Fatorma, the host MP Hon. Lansana of Constituency 015, Mr. Tucker from the Ministry of Water Resources, the host PC representative, Civil Society, local chiefs & Councilors, the media etc.
