NaCSA Second Indictee Absent in Court
The second indicted person of the National Commission for Social Action )(NaCSA), Richard Turay who is the institution Financial Secretary did not make his first appearance on Monday, 13th May, 2019 before High Court Judge, Justice Miatta Samba.
According to the chart sheet, the first accused, Alie Badara Mansaray, former Commissioner for NaCSA and second accused, Richard Turay between June 2016 to January 2017 conspired with other persons unknown to misappropriate the sum of $95,797 and Le84,775,131 providence fund for NaCSA staff contrary to law.
The former NaCSA Boss was granted bail on the condition that he should provide two identity cards of senior citizens.
Representative for the second accused, lawyer VSS Ansumana argued that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) failed to serve his clients who he said is out of the country while the first accused was represented by Ambassador Amadu Kanu, lawyer T. Cole, and Warrah Serry Kamara.
Justice Miatta Samba reminded ACC to file correct documents or else she may throw the matter out of court. The matter adjourned to Sunday, 20th May, 2019.
