Education Minister fails to produce retirement list

The Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Minkailu Bah (in photo) who had earlier informed the public that he is about to retire all ghost teachers who have reached retirement age, has failed to produce and make known to the public the 979 teachers that are supposed to retire, a reliable Education Ministry source has told this paper.

The source further explained that the Minister has found himself caught up in a trap that he himself set and now he has deceived the public by noticing that the figure produced by him was wrong and that he had to withdraw the list from the Permanent Secretary and keep it.

Source states that this delay to publish the list is of grave concern to teachers nationwide.

He also explained that most teachers who have been verified have been found to be legally employed and should be working as teachers.

He concluded that most of these teachers who have not received their salaries for some time have been affected by the issue of ghost teachers, who are still been pursued by the Minister while they continue to suffer.
