My Area FC defeat Friends FC
My Area FC on Sunday 12th May 2013 crushed Friends FC 4-1 in a friendly match at the Football Academy at Kingtom.
My Area FC were defeated in the first match 10-5 two weeks ago while the second leg was a revenge match with My Area FC lining up a full squad that included Kemokai Kallon, Salifu Samura, Kiniwa Stevens, Abibu and the rocky defender, Mustapha.
Idrissa Jordan Koroma scored a fantastic volley for My Area FC in the 5th minute and his teammate, Kemokai Kallon made it 2-0 before the break.
Salifu Samura sent Friends FC glove man the wrong way from the penalty spot early in the second half to give My Area FC a 3-0 lead.
Five minutes later, Abu Bakarr Sillah scored a consolation goal for Friends FC from the penalty spot. My Area FC captain, Kemokai Kallon scored a brace from the penalty spot in the dying minute of the match to give My Area FC a comfortable 4-1 victory.
The team manager of My Area FC, Tim Fofanah said he was delighted with the victory, adding “we lost 10-5 in the first match because most of our players, including the goalkeeper, were absent”. He thanked all players, supporters, and members of the club for their massive support thrown behind the team.
Popular hip-hop musician, LAJ also played for My Area FC in the 2nd half.
The team, My Area FC, will have an executive election this Friday 17th May at the Area Bar restaurant and on Saturday 18th May there will be a training session at the Football Academy at 9:00 am, the chairlady, Pegie revealed.
