This disclosure was made during the commemoration of the 7th year thanksgiving ceremony and launching of the school song on Sunday 12 May 2013 at the school compound.

The theme of the programme was ‘Enter His Gate with Thanksgivings’ from Psalm 100:4 with preacher, Rev. Christine Ayodele Atkins.

According to the former headwoman, Mrs. Modu Conteh, the school has been politicized to an extent that parents are removing their children from the school and teachers are also leaving the school because the Ministry of Education has refused to approve the school.

Among other things, Mrs. Conteh disclosed that the school was founded after the war as the condition of Charlotte village was very deplorable and she had to convert her house into a school but it was shut down when the then Minister of Education, Dr. AT Wurie promised to build the school.

“But instead a Health Centre was erected by the then SLPP government but as of now the village is not benefiting much from the Free Health Care,” she added.

Mrs. Modu Conteh however thanked President Koroma for the hydro and the bridge project which SLRA is constructing, but noted that if the government fails to give a helping hand, the Charlotte School will close down due to lack of funding.

Mrs. Christina Koroma of Mothaim village which is a sister village to Charlotte gave the welcome address while Brother Samuel Rogers read the First Reading from Isaiah 65:17. The second reading was read by Pastor Gabriel Kamara from Revelation 5:1-17.
