The letter dated November 02, 2012 responded to SFAMJACFUND’s effort in requesting support from the United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone His Excellency, Michael Owen on July 23, 2012 to help fund the Sfano-Michael Jackson Children’s Development Fund.

This disclosure was made by the Sierra Leonean born pop star, General Sfano on Kiss 104 F.M in Bo, South of Sierra Leone on the 24th of December, 2012 at about 13:00hrs  with Abubakarr Mans Kanu. The renowned pop star was in Bo to support a three day carnival and musical concert that was organized by members of the management of the popular radio station, Kiss 104 FM raising awareness on the need to support children’s affairs within the Sierra Leonean Community.

This is the second diplomatic letter members of SFAMJACFUND have received from the office of the American Embassy in Sierra Leone, he said.

Mr. Sfano Njawa Sesay said that his group is grateful to Michael Owen for his blessings towards the upcoming funding agency in Sierra Leone. He further disclosed that members of his group extend their appreciation to the American Embassy in Sierra Leone and to the entire Government of the United States of America for their support and spirit that embraces global developmental initiatives.

Highlighting their delay in meeting the Jackson family in the United States of America last August to inform them about the initiative that bears the name of the late king of Pop, Micheal Joseph Jackson, General Sfano disclosed that at the time the group was concluding plans for their departure to the US, it was well published on several news tabloids across the world that the Jackson family was in a very serious family problems which needed to be addressed. Revealing that, that was an obstacle to their attempt in meeting them.

The pop star further said that it should have been very unreasonable for his group to further meet with the Jackson family at that time as initially planned. “We were urged to go back to the planning table and re-strategize” Sfano said, adding that, “It is better late than never, we must do the right thing”.

Mr. Njawa Sesay disclosed that his group was concerned with such development and made an effort by writing an open letter to the Jackson family pleading with them to consider the need for sustainable unity within the family. The letter was published through one of Sierra Leone’s local newspapers Concord Times sometime in September last year for global news publication which was expected to meet the appropriate concerned people.

“My group is making the necessary efforts to meet with the Jackson family in due course for the fact that we have the name of their late family member Michael Jackson on the funding agency believing that the family members of the late king of Pop and the entire Americans around the world will embrace us for acting positively on their behalf.  “Such moves will hopefully further strengthen the African-American relationship through music and cultural practices that is helping to address global issues of the less-privileged children and the vulnerable people”, General Sfano said.

The popular ‘Michael Jackson of Sierra Leone’ pleaded with his listeners for their relentless support towards the promotion of the funding initiative and assures them of his group’s dedication on community and global development.

Popularly known for his magic singing and dancing prowess reincarnating Michael Jackson’s glory from this part of the world, Sfano is making immense impact on the diplomatic pace from Sierra Leone to the rest of the world on development.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sesay disclosed that his group is embarking on community awareness and fundraising initiative which strategy will involve the community people of the country to participate and contribute towards the development of the funding agency and the country as a whole. The fundraising effort is to help his group on its initial plans as more support is needed to address the challenges ahead of the funding agency.

He disclosed that their method of approach is through music and drama performances.

While the group’s effort remains relentless, Mr. Sfano Njawa Sesay is calling on the attention of the American people and their allied in development to further empower the United States Embassy in Sierra Leone through which his group hopes to receive the necessary support in the future for the development of the people of the country and international cooperation.
