‘Everybody Must Farm’ video hits Sierra Leone

‘Everybody Must Farm’ video hits Sierra Leone

A video done by Sfano Njawa Sesay (in photo), Sierra Leone’s most popular singer and dancer, titled, ‘Everybody must farm,’ has, according to a report reaching this paper, been released and it has become an instant hit.

The video is an awareness raising musical drama that sensitizes Sierra Leoneans to engage on agricultural productivity in order to make the country food self sufficient.

The report further explained that the Mr. Sfano Njawa Sesay also known as General Sfano is closely working with the Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security to help eradicate poverty in Sierra Leone through massive food production and commercialization of agricultural products.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Sfano-Michael Jackson Children’s Development Fund, Sfano Njawa Sesay said that his group respects President Ernest Bai Koroma’s Agenda for prosperity’s call for food self sufficiency and the eradication of poverty in the country.

He disclosed that his group designed the ‘Everybody must farm initiative that was presented to the Ministry of Agriculture and was studied by the Minister, Dr. Joseph Sam Sesay, and members of his Ministry who adopted the project.

He revealed that his group is envisaging a nationwide musical concert to reach every area of the country to perform, adding that his performances and messages through his songs will help convince the people to take agriculture seriously.

According to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security who also doubles as United Nation’s Chairman, FAO Committee on Agriculture, Dr. Joseph Sam Sesay, he said that agriculture is the engine to the development of the country and that his leadership as Minister gives him the opportunity to bring the people nearer to agricultural activities for them to know the significance of agricultural productivity to development.

He further stated that he was pleased with the introduction of General Sfano’s ‘Everybody must farm’ idea and that he believes the Sierra Leonean born King of Pop has the ultimate ability to win the people’s attention engage in agricultural productivity in the country.

“President Koroma has made it clear that the youths should be given the opportunity to take part in nation building,” Dr. Sam Sesay said. He maintained that General Sfano could be a motivation to others to come out and do better.

He assured Sierra Leoneans that he will do his best to convince members of his Ministry and the FAO Committee on Agriculture to give General Sfano and his group support that will enable him carry out his food sufficiency activities through music and drama globally especially in Sierra Leone.
