EFSL Donates Drugs to Grafton

The Evangelical Fellowship of Sierra Leone (EFSL) has donated assorted drugs to the Grafton community in a bid to combat the cholera that has plagued the country recently.

Handing over the items to the Grafton community headman, the general secretary EFSL Rev. Jonathan Titus Williams said their mandate is to improve human dignity, restore sanity to communities in dire need through God’s word. Rev. Williams encouraged the community people to use the drugs for the intended purpose, nothing that cholera must be treated with prompt action and care. He informed the community people that funds were provided by Isle of Man through Tear Fund.

The Grafton community headman Alusine Jalloh expressed appreciation to EFSL for their kind gesture. He noted that since government declared the fight against cholera in the country, their community has been active in the campaign against the disease.

Madam Mabinty Koroma is an inhabitant of the Grafton community. She maintained that now that the drugs are available at the health centre, they believe that cholera cases would be addressed easily. She noted that even though they live in an area known for producing one of the best drinking water facilities, yet the community lacks pipe born water. She therefore asked EFSL  to help them with water and housing facilities as most people live in make shift houses which are not comfortable for human dwelling.

The community service manager EFSL. Gadiru Bassie, appealed to the community people to desist from open defecation which he says may result to the outbreak of cholera and other air borne diseases. He called on all to always keep their environment clean, as he put it, cleanliness is next to Godliness.
