According to the chairman, Umaru Deen-Sesay, Senegal should have hosted the competition this year but because of our National elections, the competition will be rescheduled for January 2013.

“Gambia hosted the competition in 2009, Sierra Leone in 2010, Mali in 2011 and Senegal is supposed to host the competition this year but we have not finalized anything yet because of our national election”, Umaru Deen-Sesay said.

2009 in Gambia, Sierra Leone veteran team emerged 5th position but won the championship trophy in 2010 in Sierra Leone.

The most worrying aspect of the team is finance to prepare the team for the next competition as government and parastatals are just not helping the veteran team.

Mercury International has been hailed for their support in last year’s competition.
