Alhaji Jalloh – “brings fresh perspectives to news outlets”
Please give me space in your widely read newspaper to express my sentiments to some of my fellow compatriots in Saudi Arabia.
I read in your paper this morning a banner headline “Ernest Koroma?s government scores high marks in Saudi Arabia.” (Photo: Alhaji Jalloh, Information Attache, Sierra Leone Embassy, Saudi Arabia)
The article, which is about an interview conducted with one Mr. Ibrahim Sillah of the Daa’wa Committee in Riyadh by the Press Attaché in Saudi Arabia, is very impressive.
I must confess that, I am proud of Mr. Sillah’s responses. Any Sierra Leonean who reads the interview must be proud of Mr. Sillah (A man I have never met).
After reading the interview, I told my co-workers here in Germany that my country has a lot of intellectuals. Mr. Sillah’s responses to the interviewer are much matured.
I have also been following interviews conducted by our Saudi Press Attaché, even before his appointment. I have also been a fervent reader of his reporting and I must confess that I admire the fresh perspectives he brings into the news outlet.
I must also confess that he has been a champion of excellent journalism in Sierra Leone. He has raised the bar of doing interviews that are unbiased, truth-telling and exceptionally good in style. And he has the grit, charm and capacity to communicate his message about love and duty to our country extremely well.
I am sure the Sierra Leone Embassy and its nationals in Saudi Arabia are very lucky to have a professional in their community who reports accurately.
Like Mr. Sillah said in the interview, “This part of the Embassy mission was one thing that was terribly missing.”
To add to that, indeed, it was missing. Take for instance; there have been hardworking Ambassadors in our Saudi Mission, people like Ambassador Umaru Bonn Wurie, who was in Saudi before coming to Germany here. Mr. Wurie is a man who is very active in performing his national responsibilities, a man all members of the Sierra Leone Community in Germany missed when he left Germany. I wish Mr. Wurie had got such a man in his administration, Sierra Leone should have known how competent he (Mr. Wurie is)
But most of the out gone Ambassadors were unfortunate because there was no Information man in the embassy to disseminate their good works to the public like its happening now.
Thank you very much.

Can these people that are continuing to praise this kind of quack stop disgracing our country please? Alhaji jalloh is not a journalist for goodness sake. He has been appointed to that position because he was the errand boy for Mohamed Koroma, deputy miniter of health. That is all. It is because the present government lacks the personnel makes them appoint such a nonentity to a valuable position of the sort. Pleas STOP IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish to thank, wholeheartedly, the Press Attache of the SL Embassy, Alhaji Jalloh for adding yet another strive of honour in his thrust towards establishing an information channel through which the SL community in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and other concerned media outlets at home and abroad are regularly updated with national news of relevance.
As Secretary General and later Vice President of the Sierra Leone Nationals’ Union during Mr. Ibrahim Sillah’s era, I felt extremely grateful that the former President’s view was aired on an international media. Mr. Ibrahim Sillah has been the backbone advocator of the SLNU since its inception and his will remain a source of historic reference. It is just unfortunate that, over the years, as the Presidential baton changed hands, the aims and objectives of the union were misrepresent by purported “leaders” with no integrity or moral values in their character. The curse of immorality has brought chaos and disgrace to the community in the Holy Land. It came as no surprise therefore when an entire community was forced to pay for the sins of their flesh!
It’s indeed a healthy, refreshing and commendable move by the Press Attache to see that people from the old guard are abundantly featured in his interview to recapture the vested interest and re-introduce the lost organizational seriousness that the union once enjoyed. With such moves, our community is just about getting back to the right track after years in the wilderness of empty political rhetoric and “big shot” waywardness. We need to get back to our roots and give a chance to the wise and righteous!
