Talib Enterprise gives Bo City a facelift
Health is wealth, and a brilliant way to support the government of Sierra Leone in its stride to combat the ensuing cholera epidemic is to maintain a clean environment. Over the past weekend a private business entity, Talib Enterprise of 20 Bojon Street, Bo, complimented the efforts of the government when they single handedly undertook a massive cleaning exercise of the Bo centre market, much to the amazement of all and sundry. The proprietress of Talib Enterprise, Madam Chadia Talib, informed this press that her business was established in 1997 to trade in different food commodities and metamorphosed into selling of fish three years ago, with the aim of aiding the fish mongers in Bo and its environs.
Chadia revealed that she thought it expedient to use part of her resources as part of her corporate social responsibility and contribute to the prevention of the killer cholera epidemic. The astute business woman vehemently dissociated her gesture to that of politics adding that it is her benevolence and her love for the people of Bo City. Chadia Talib disclosed that she employed a hundred people for the exercise and paid the sum of Le10,000 each as stipend. She reiterated that she has no intention to go into politics and should not be mistaken to be.
Chadia Talib thanked the people of Bo city council for providing vehicles and entreated indigenes to ensure proper disposal of refuse in order to keep a clean and healthy Bo.
In his contributions, the chairman of Sierra Leone Traders Union southern region, David Moses, said that this is the first time a private enterprise has taken up the responsibility of cleaning and disclosed that there are some parts of the market that have not been cleaned for the past 20 years but with the help of Madam Chadia Talib the people in the market are experiencing fresh air, and as a Union they appreciate the effort made by Talib Enterprise. He then entreated other well meaning citizens to emulate Chadia.
