SLCHO Joins Sierra Leone Government to Clean Freetown
The Sierra Leone Charity Health Organization (SLCHO) which is a charity based organization has taken a robust move to help the present government of Sierra Leone to clean the Freetown City.
According to the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ernest Claude Farma, the aim of the Organisation is to help undertake Health Right Base programmes through constructive engagement and providing health care for affected people in the City, adding that for previous years they have been involved in advocating in fund raising for helpless Sierra Leoneans.
He continued that at this present moment, they are making commitment to providing sanitary services to the number one government hospital in Freetown, stating that the sanitary condition of the hospital is very important and they want to maintain a disease free hospital environment.
He furthered that it is obvious that a hospital is place full of patients of different of different illness and they may be highly contagious and can be easily be affected when there is poor sanitary condition.
‘The environment may harbor bacteria germs which are life threat and we have been careful about the sanitary status of the hospital. And we need to improve and maintain to avoid all possible chance of breeding bacteria and virus in the hospital’ he said.
He pleaded that as an organisation, they are looking forward to government, private sector, NGO, and general public to pay attention the hospital especially on hygiene and sanitation.
He maintained that they are promoting good sanitation practices in the hospitals to improve on the welfare of patients, health workers and the public, adding that it is a lifesaving moves and they are encouraging the involvement of all volunteers’ groups under mentioned.
