Commonwealth Blacklists SLRA
Revelations from a commonwealth project in the United Kingdom confirmed that the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) has breached a long overdue contractual agreement for which the institution has been blacklisted.
Report states that the SLRA entered into a contract with the Commonwealth Yearbook 2012 for a half page colour profile plus web addition on the 14th of September 2011. The copy date was 30th September 2011 and payment due on the 23rd September 2011. The sum of £7,000 was supposed to have been paid to Nexus Strategic Partnership Ltd., also in the UK through the Nat West Bank, Cambridge.
Sources at Nexus Strategic Partnership Ltd expressed disappointment in a conversation with this press stating that the SLRA has caused gross embarrassment to the contractors for which they have resolved to forestall all business activities with the Roads Authority.
In reaction to this, a top brass in the Finance division of the SLRA admitted to the claims but attributed the delay in payment to the bureaucracy involved in the issuance of SLRA cheques.
Below is a copy of the invoice numbered 00002114 that was forwarded to the SLRA. Read more on this in our subsequent editions.
