Didi Abu to Contest for Presidency of Football for Sierra Leoneans in USA

Ex-East End Lions and Sierra Fisheries rocky defender Didi Abu will contest today Friday 31st August 2012 for the Presidency of Football for Sierra Leoneans based in the United States of America.

The football election will take place today in Maryland, USA, and Didi Abu who is the favourite for the position will contest against Ayo Warburton, a soccer player based in Washington DC.

The winner will succeed another former Leone Stars legend, Sento Johnson who is the current chairman of the Sierra Leone Football Association in the USA.

Didi Abu a football Philanthropist will jet in town early next year and hopes to develop youth football in the schools, and female football, with a budget totaling over 100 million Leones.

He is the current vice chairman of the association and if elected he will help promote soccer in the USA amongst Sierra Leonean soccer players, and at home, especially the retired National Football Heroes who are our role models of football in the country, he revealed.

He has been given helping hands to the development of football in Sierra Leone for the past years and he is optimistic that he will do more when he becomes president.
