For tribal incitement NDA fires 6 rebels
Sequel to a press statement February 3rd by displeased members of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) party, the leadership has responsively fired six believed to have plotted the publication of such a release.
Among other things, the release accused the party’s substantive National and International Co-ordinator, National Secretary and official spokesman, of injecting tribalism from among the membership of the party thus citing the uneven distribution of a vehicle and motor bikes to party officials.
Allegations are that the National and International Coordinator, National Secretary and official spokesman, Abdul Razak Bah, Mohamed S. Jalloh and Chernor Alpha M. Bah have had seizeless moments promoting division among party members, in particular against members who are not Fullahs by ethnicity.
When contacted at his Duke Street headquarter office, the National Secretary M .S. Jalloh said however that the veracity of the accusations are unfounded, and by virtue of Article 11 Section 11 (1) of the party’s Constitution, persons found culpable of initiating misconception should be unfailingly expelled.
He noted that expelled members – Alpha Issa Bah, Albert Abou, Philip Tengbeh, Alex B.M Kaikai, Amadu L. Bah and Chernor Maju Bah – until their expulsion, have had their membership questionable.
He disclosed however that all six might face court charges for contravening some sections of the party constitution.
Abdul Razak Bah frowned at the dissidents’ use of tribal antics to discredit the NDA whose virtues transcends tribalism, regionalism, sectionalism and other acts fermenting unrest.
“Historically, the NDA party was founded in 1994 by an ethnically diverse group of Sierra Leoneans from all regions of the country, on the foundation of ‘Respect for All,” Razak said.
“And we as a party uphold this tenet till now.”
Efforts to reach the six suspended members proved futile.
