As NPD, 4 Others Join Forces David Sets To Destroy Goliath
In what many refer to as a David versus Goliath battle, five political parties including National Democratic Alliance (NDA), National Progressive Democrats (NPD), United National Peoples Party (UNPP), National Unity and Reconciliation Party (NURP) and Unity Party (UP) , have come together as the David that will destroy the mighty Goliath in the March 7th polls.
In a well-attended ceremony that attracted several high profile personalities including international observers and members of both local and international media held at the British Council Hall on Saturday the 24th of February, 2018, the leaders of the various political parties earlier mentioned and who have a common vision for Sierra Leone made their commitments to working together in order to form the next government of Sierra Leone after the March 7th, 2018 election.
In a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed amongst them, the leaders of the various parties agreed to contest the forthcoming election independently by maintaining their identities as political parties but to work as a unit in any constituency or ward that is not contested by the parties in the joint force. They also agreed to throw their absolute support to any one of the candidates who may emerge as runner up in the election.
