Mayor exhibits city chain and says he is a responsible city father…
City father, Mayor Herbert G. Williams, past Thursday exhibited his silver and golden mayoral chains in response to press attributions that they are not in his custody.
“I am a responsible city father;” Mayor Herbert said. “Here are the sets of Mayoral chains alleged to have been taken from me.”
Just then, the silver and gold chains (three sets) were removed from a brown envelope and shown to members of the press.
The exhibition of the said chains was done at the usual Ministry of Information press briefing.
The drama however unfolded when the self assured Mayor proudly put on his golden ceremonial chain to demonstrate to all that ascriptions in relation to the seizure of his Mayoral regalia (chains) was false.
