Notorious Prison Escapee pleads guilty.
One of 19 prison escapees yesterday pleaded guilty as charged.
Alpha Ngobeh, who until last week was wanted for lawful escape from the Central Prison (Pademba Prison), was a few days ago arrested and charged for the offence escape from lawful custody.
Ngobeh who made his first appearance before Magistrate Steven Conteh of Court No. 1, without any waste of the court’s time, pleaded guilty to a single count charge of escape from lawful custody while in detention at the Central Prison. It could be recalled that Ngobeh and 18 others reportedly escaped from Central Prison on the 5th December last year.
The matter was however adjourned to Friday 14th for judgment.
The accused was remanded in custody.
