Afsatu Kabba launches Kamara Taylor’s Foundation

The launching which took place at Madina Town in the Tonko Limba Chiefdom, Kambia District was climaxed by a football gala, fund raising, and performance by Innocent and Comedians.
The Foundation is formed by students in different Tertiary institutions from Tonko Limba to pay respect to the late Christian Alusine Kamara-Taylor who was one of the founding fathers of the All Peoples Congress (APC) party. The late man died on the 27th March 1985.
A bust erected in appreciation of the late man, was divulged by Haja Afsatu Kabba, the Minister of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security Dr Sam Sesay, together with children and relatives of the late CA Kamara Taylor.
The Foundation President Alie Conteh stated that the Foundation is non political formed by students in different Tertiary Institutions from Thonko Limba to acknowledge the late man’s work in the country and the APC party.
The Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Abubakarr Kamara –Taylor explained that they have embarked on investing in 60 acres of farm land and also engaging the youth into employment
He added that they are also planning to open a health centre to ease the sufferings of people.
Launching the Foundation, Haja Afsatu Kabba said that the Foundation’s motto ‘Development and Transformation’ are two important things that bring change in people’s lives.
She maintained that the computer lab and plant generator will help the school restore its name and transform the lives of children
Haja Afsatu Kabba encouraged the community people to be watch dogs and engage in any form of development brought to them. She also appealed to the youths to desist from violent activities and engage in activities that will transform their lives for the better.
Pa Sorie Sesay from a neighboring village expressed thanks to Haja Afsatu Kabba for graciously attending the programme. He expressed dissatisfaction over the neglect of Tonko Limba by some Ministers and diplomats who came from that part.
Pa Sesay furthered that what put him off was that those who he expected to grace the occasion never turned up. “Haja we the people of Tonko Limba thank you and appreciate you ”. Statements were made by Minister of Agriculture Dr Sam Sesay, the Member of Parliament, Madina Old Student Association (MOSA) the Director of CEFORD Moses Kamara.
A big plant generator to service the Madina Government Secondary School, a well furnished computer lab for the school, a renovated market for the people and the Foundation office was commissioned by Haja Afsatu Kabba.
