Armed robbers infiltrates Kissy – AK 47 confiscated
September 13, 2010 – Residents of Thunder Hill Community say unknown men armed with an AK47 rifle attacked residences of innocent people and took along with them property worth millions.
Those good neighbours, whose houses were spared, contacted The Citizen Radio who relayed information and asked that the police are informed.
Marauding robbers were reported engaging in the discharge of live bullets thus scaring the neighbours from making any attempt to repeal or resist them.
It was told that the robbers later got tip off of police’ presence, smartly pulled out and took their heels using the way that lead to the Kissy Mental Home.
The robbers, it is reported, also attacked residences around Kissy Mental Home and stole hard earned treasures of individuals.
Youths, they say, joined the police in preventing the robbers attacking too many homes in the forenamed community.
It could be summed up that over the years, the police and community people have had the understandings through which the formation of community police was borne.
The Youths, we are told, succeeded in arresting one riffle from the looting robbers, and handed same to the Police Community Board Chairman, Med Kay.
The rifle is said to have been handed over to Kissy police for further investigation.
