Wahala over Cabinet reshuffle

Bombshell: core Ministers have vowed to either retain office or be repositioned to other offices of reasonable relations.  Delay in the release of memorandum document (otherwise called ‘cabinet reshuffle’ message) that tells names of sacked or transferred Ministers, is said to have been the cause of uncountable pressures by moguls of the ruling APC on President Koroma (in photo).

State House sources say Ministers who boast being core and fore in the party have had their names in the list of those ticked as under performers – and shall be relegated.

That some sees themselves as the untouchables and cannot at all be made to take Ministerial exit once their party (the APC) makes it all in governance.

Also, a source has revealed how underperforming Ministers have been having jolly times at the home of President Koroma, sweet-talking him to retain them in office.

It could be recalled that President Koroma has told this nation that as Sierra Leone’s foremost head, he has the right to hire or fire Ministers at will. And that his ratings of cabinet Ministers are strictly on work performance.

It has reached this press that the announcement of names of Ministers would have longed come, but was held due to serious divisions within ranks of the APC.

It must be noted that the media, over the weeks, have come hard on the APC, compelling government to dismiss underperforming Ministers from office –  attributing same as hampering the progress of national development.

President Koroma, whose looks seemed acceptable to society, is now being looked at as ‘playing game’ thus the uncalled for withholding of names of Ministers listed for reshuffling.

In retrospect, Sierra Leoneans have called the President’s cunning delay in the release of names of reshuffled or sacked Ministers as ‘betrayal of trust’ – that he will have no hesitation to fire underperforming Ministers but doesn’t seem to be doing so.

An APC official who spoke on grounds of secrecy says delay in the announcement of reshuffled or sacked Ministers is but what inner core members have called ‘no good thing’ for the party APC.

“Why insist on retaining underperforming Ministers in office leaving better heads lay fallow doing nothing. We want the unconditional release of names of sacked, transferred or appointed Ministers out now,” say of some civil society activists.
