21 Arrested for Attacking Military Major in Sierra Leone

The Officer Commanding, Jui Police Station, Joe Kamanda Bongayhas informed Journalists on Thursday, 16th May, 2019 at the CID Headquarters on George Street in Freetown that a group of bad men attacked a military major.

Officer Bongay explained that sometime this month, he received a phone call that some unscrupulous men have attacked a military major and disturbed the peaceful citizens along Cobber Farm where Limba Wendy’s located.

He said the owner of Limba Wendy’s was arrested with dried leaf suspected to be cannabis sativa and discussed that it is their mandate to ensure people live and sleep in peace. He concluded that the suspects including the owner of Limba Wendy’s are under custody helping the Police in their investigation.

The Operation Officer, ASP Albert Kamara also updated that the Sierra Leone Police has started implementing Operation Push Back to help decongest traffic in certain strategic areas in Freetown adding that to succeed in this drive, Police officers are normally sent on intersession to sensitize traders on the essence of the operation.

He concluded by emphasizing on their desire as a force to sustain the said operation with the support of stakeholders and the public.
