No Afsatu Signature on ACC Exhibits
Abdul Jalloh, prosecution witness in the trial of the former minister of Fishers and Marine Resources, Haja Afsatu Olayinka Ebishola Kabba, said in the High Court yesterday that there was no signature of the accused in any of the cheques presented as evidence before the court.
Jalloh made this response after the lead defence counsel for the former minister of Marine Resource, JB Jenkins Johnston ESQ, asked whether the accused signed on any of the cheque.
“No, My Lord,†Jalloh replied.
The five cheques were tendered as exhibits A1 to A5.
Lawyer Jenkins Johnston argued further that although the exhibits issued contained the name of Yeane Enterprise and the monies withdrawn by one Gina Missah, the statement of the transaction should be presented to court in the next adjourned date.
The Defence had earlier challenge the prosecution on the improper manner the documents were issued to the defence.
Haja Afsatu Kabbah is being tried on seven count charges of corruption related charges in the high court No1 presided over by Justice Samuel Ademusu.
The matter is adjoined to the 20th May 2010.
