Administrator and Registrar General must pay!
Reports reaching this newspaper state that the Administrator and Registrar General, Miss Mariama Kallay, is alleged to have refused to pay the sum of Le 21,177,032.23 each to estates of the late Victoria Shonubi and the late David Peilu Aitkins, making it a total of Le42, 354,064.46.
A family member who spoke to this newspaper explained that the money in question is part of the proceeds from the sales of real properties situated at 140 and 140 A Kissy Road in Freetown sometime between 2010 and 2011.
The money which he said ran into hundreds of millions of Leones was to have been shared among the beneficiaries of the late Joseph F. Garber.
He revealed that while three of the beneficiaries, namely Sylvanus Aitkins, Christian Cole and Randolf Aitkins have received their own shares of the proceeds, “the Administrator and Registrar General, Miss Mariama Kallay has not cooperated with us to pay the money belonging and owed to our two late relatives.”
He further revealed that for close to seven years now their Lawyers, Francess Claudia Wright and Yasmin Jusu Sherriff, have been after Miss Mariama Kallay to pay the monies to the Estates of the two remaining beneficiaries, namely, Victoria Shunobi and David Peilu Aitkins.
He explained that what is most disturbing is that Miss Mariama Kallay has long stopped picking their phone calls or accepting to talk with them in person.
“She told us at one time before cutting all contacts with us that she has no money for us and that if we want we can report her to any authority and nothing will come out of it,” he stated.
He concluded by appealing to Miss Mariama Kallay to do the honourable thing by paying the money and called on the Chief Justice Hon. Abdulai Charm to intervene in the matter and compel Miss Mariama Kallay to pay the money.
