She went on to say world water day, which is celebrated on the 22nd of March every year is about focusing attention on the importance of water and this year theme “Nature For Water” explores nature based solutions (NBS) to the water challenges they face in the 21st century.

She added that the campaign is called ‘the answer is in nature’ and raise awareness of NBS. The central message is that NBS, such as planting trees to replenish forest, reconnecting rivers to floodplains and restoring wetlands, is a sustainable and cost effective away to help rebalance the water cycle, mitigate the effects of climate change and improve human health and livelihood.

She further said that over 2.1 billion people do not have access to water and most of these people suffering from this are people from Africa.

She explained that 10 out of 100 people in Sierra Leone do not have access to water. She continued to say that the sources of the water should not be far away and the place where the people fetch there water should be clean and safe.

She added that they should practice the hand washing techniques whenever they use the rest room and before and after eating food.

She advised the people to protect their environment by stopping to do the things that can cause harm to the environment and also to conserve the sources of water.

She advised the pupils to throw their dirt that they have gathered into the dust bin.

She continued to say that the challenges they are having is the way they introduce their learning methods because it is different from the usual way in the country like telling the teachers not to flog a child but to find other ways to make them learn.

She went to say, that some of their success stories is that the children are learning faster and they internalize the learning methods introduced to them.

She continued to say that their aim is to build a firm foundation with the children, make sure that any child matters and promote early childhood foundation in Sierra Leone.

Finally, she advised that they should make sure that water is not wasted, by not cutting down trees and learn to throw dirt in a dustbin because water and the environment are important.

The kids in the school from class one to six did a short skit as a way of sensitizing parents, teacher and kid in the school about the importance of water and the main purposes on how to use water.
