CAF officially Open new office
A humanitarian organization that is gearing towards promoting communities through collective solutions to respond to community inadequacies and development needs known as the Community Aid Foundation (CAF) has officially open its new administrative office at 14A Clarkson Drive, off Kallon Drive Lower Sema Town, Devil Hole in the Western Area Rural District, Rokel community.
The opening ceremony which was graced by various community stakeholders that includes youth groups, Community Safety Volunteers (CSV), Religious Leaders, community women representative, Traditional Heads, CAF Response team, Civil Society Activists (CSOs), media institutions among other prominent people, was held at the new edifice building recently.
In his power point presentation, the Executive Secretary (ES) of CAF, Mohamed J .Jalloh, said the presentation is just to give highlight of the various activities which CAF has undertaken since its establishment on July 29th 2017 up to date.
He noted that, CAF started with the Aim of solving problems of electricity, education, health, security, water supply at the Devil Hole community on Lower Sema Town with other important projects like, CSVs, Toilet construction at the Sadico primary, Alternative Dispute Resolution between community people, House Hold Survey where they identified other serious challenges adding that the foundation proposes a cost work proposal to promote the activities of the movement.
He said the community people actually give the support at the initial stage but he said it is not enough to undertake the targeted projects adding that they were at first branded as a political movement but he said they stand tall to win the trust of the community.
Delivering the keynote address, the Executive Director of CAF, Gilbert N’laboy expresses happiness to community stakeholders and other dignitaries for honouring their invitation within short notice and he invoke the presence of God Almighty to lead the occasion which he describe as a historic moment for the people of lower Sema town to have a community administrative headquarter to provide solutions for the development of the community.
He noted that, the launching ceremony of the office is a laudable one which they as CAF deem it necessary to invite stakeholders to witness the event with theme,’’2018 Our Year of Rapid Community Development’ ’with the slogan love where you live.
The resilient and noble Director went further to inform the gathering that their vision is of a progressive, healthy, enlightened and peaceful society with robust administrative team to deliver effectively and efficiently for the good of the surroundings towns adding that their mission is to inspire other communities through collective solutions to respond to community inadequacies and development desires to promote sustainable development.
He stressed on the need to continue with community engagement forums which he said will help to educate members on the important to concentrate on the improvement of the community adding that they have developed specific document to prepared a strategic plan which will fast track development and mention that CAF will continue to deliver positive initiative for the benefit of the entire environs and even beyond.
However, the Director disclosure that they have developed an organogram, a grant document to support future projects adding that they will continue shortly after the election with community dialogue forums to know the views and comments of the people about the operations of CAF.
He assure the community of CAF commitment to bring fruitful projects for the improvement of the community and brag that they are still motivated even though there are challenges ahead but he said they will reach at the top.
He updates the gathering that, CAF will award certain associate members for their relentless work towards the improvement of the foundation and he appeal to other members who are not fortunate to receive this certificate of appreciation from the executive board.
He said today the management of CAF has decided to award Rev.Sadrie Turay a certificate of appreciation together with another strong member for their hard working ability.
In his appreciation mood, Rev.Sadrie expresses profound gratitude to the entire management and staff of CAF for recognizing him for his commitment and hard work aptitude.
Giving the backing up statement, the Headman of Lower Sema town, Pa Abdulai Mansaray expresses thanks and appreciations to CAF for complementing the effort of Government in the area of development.
He appeal to CAF to continue with their good work to bring more useful projects that will benefit the community.
