Constituency 120 endorses Alusainy Tinga Kamara
Reports reaching this paper indicate that the people of Constituency 120 in ryhe Central Kissy Area, East of Freetown, have called on Mr. Alusainy Tinga Kamara to contest the 7 March, 2018 multi-tier elections under the All Peoples Congress (APC) and represent them in Parliament.
In a snap survey conducted by this Reporter in the Constituency, it was established that Mr. Alusainy Tinga Kamara is very popular in the communities making up the constituency and even beyond.
It was also established that Mr. Tinga, as he is popularly known, is a son of the soil who was born and raised in the constituency where he is reported to have made a lot of contributions to the development of the communities.
It was also disclosed that Mr. Tinga cuts across the political, religious, tribal and cultural divides and regarded as a unifier who can easily garner the support of the various tribal, political, religious and cultural groupings in the constituency and score a decisive victory over his opponents in the 7 March, 2018 Parliamentary election.
The people appealed to the National Executive Committee (NAC) of the party to give him the symbol so that he can win the election and represent them in Parliament.
Fondly called the Loko Chief, the constituents also revealed that Tinga has lived all his life in the Kissy community and has been very supportive of many community activities and initiatives including social activities of the young people irrespective of political, religions, tribal, regional or cultural affiliations.
In an interview with Mr. Alusainy Tinga Kamara, he disclosed that he joined the APC in 1977. He also revealed that he was a member of the APC Youth League under the late firebrand politician, Hon. F. B. Turay, who was then Member of Parliament for the then Freetown East 3 Constituency. He also explained that from 1982 to 1990, he served as Vice President of the then Freetown East 3 Constituency Youth League under the former Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Hon. Morlai Bai Kamara, popularly known as Pa Morlai Sidom. He further stated that as Chief Organiser, he championed a lot of self-help projects in the constituency. He also disclosed that sometime during the war in the country, he left to study in the United Kingdom.
“I finally came back close to three years ago and I have been engaged in business and consultancy,” he stated, noting that the people of Constituency 120 have been appealing to him to represent them, Parliament, and that after much thought and extensive consultations he has now agreed to take up the challenge.
He maintained that as an indigene of the constituency he better understands the issues in the communities and can better address then than anybody else.
He appealed to the people of Kissy to give him t5heir support so that he can be awarded the party symbol and then vote for him to become their Member of Parliament.
