SLPP candidate to replace Tejan-Cole

News leaking from the office of the president states that the government of the All Peoples Congress (APC) and its development partners have decided on giving the privilege of replacing the self sacked ACC Boss Abdul Tejan Cole to the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party; a move according to political analyst is strangest ever since the Ernest Koroma reigns started in 2007.

This according to reports is to be done in the interest of good and inclusive governance as the president was quoted as saying a few days after the news of the apparent French leave of the Tejan-Cole broke off. Pressure it said had always been there from development partners that the opposition is given the privilege to serve in the position if the success of the President’s dream to fight corruption is to succeed.

The President is said to have however stated very clearly that candidates submitted by the opposition will be subject to approval by Parliament and the President at the end of the day. Whilst according reports the president considers the Tejan-Cole’s resignation as a big blow, Ernest Koroma is however said to be making use of this opportunity to prove the point that he runs an inclusive and cohesive government by ensuring that he appoints someone from the opposition to the ACC chief.

Although many people fear the outcome of such a decision, President Koroma is said to be relishing the fact that this move will add spice to his zero tolerant drive against corruption.

Our source stated that “with an opposition man in the hot seat of the ACC, the fear of ‘sacred cowism’ will be done away with as reason for comprise in cases of corruption will no longer exist”.
