The Chief Executive Officer of Fatsan based in the Kossoh Town community in Constituency 92, Madam Fatmata Kargbo, has disclosed that her organization has embarked on promoting girl-child education in the country.

It could be recalled that over the years, the organization has been promoting sporting activities in the Kossoh Town community.

Madam Fatmata Kargbo made the disclosure on Valentine’s Day on Sunday 14th February, 2016, when addressing residents of Kossoh Town community during a talent explosion session that attracted a good number of community stakeholders.

The CEO commended the community schools and the youths for their efforts in promoting sports and girl-child education, as well as organizing community social meetings.

Madam Fatmata Kargbo also specially thanked Mr. Alie Kabba for supporting their initiative to promote girl-child education in the country.

She appealed to the Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), Mr. Francis Alieu Munu, to stop his personnel from harassing them during and after sporting activities.

The CEO stressed that they should not be intimidated by the police within their own community.

One of the community stakeholders, Mr. Jango Christian Cole, reiterated that OSD personnel have time without number bullied the civilian populace in Kossoh Town on flimsy grounds.

He also called on the IGP to caution his personnel attached to the Kissy, Ross Road and Habour police stations against the undue harassment of people in that community, adding that police harassment is frustrating the efforts of youths who organize sporting activities.

Mr. Cole commended Madam Fatmata Kargbo for zealously promoting girl-child education and sporting activities in the Kossoh Town community.
