Tom Nyuma’s daughter’s killer acting crazy – refusing food, behaving abnormally
Murder suspect, Alfred Koroma, who allegedly battered her girlfriend Sia Nyuma to death last week and currently secured at the Lumley Police Division, is reported to be behaving abnormally, refusing to eat or talk coherently.
A police inspector attached to the station intimated that the suspect is refusing food and needs to be coaxed to cooperate with the police.
As at past Thursday, the police had confirmed that the suspect was yet to be charged to court as the investigations are ongoing in addition to his sudden change in demeanour, which observers following the matter regard as a ploy to delay investigations and lay a foundation for a plea of insanity.
Alfred Koroma, a former employee of the Senegalese construction company – CSE, was witnessed by at least three persons as he violently attacked Sia and dealt severe blows to her resulting in her death.
The incident happened in Juba (Cassada Farm) at the residence of the late father of the deceased, Colonel Tom Nyuma, former Secretary of State under the National Provisional Ruling Council (NPRC) and Chairman of the Kailahun District Council under the umbrella of the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) from 2008 to 2012, but later defected to the governing All People’s Congress (APC) prior to the 2012 multitier elections.
The suspect, according to eyewitnesses who assisted in his arrest and detention, has a track record of violence against the deceased, and is wont to fly into violent rage when annoyed.
The police are being closely watched by the media and the general public this time around as there is substantial evidence available to support a charge and speedy trial of the accused.
This latest development in the matter is raising eyebrows in legal minds that so-called defense counsels might be advising the accused to play insane and thwart the efforts of the police to proffer charges as soon as possible.
