SLRTC to introduce Super Agent Ticket System
As part of their programme of activities for the 2016 Financial Year, the Sierra Leone Road Transport Corporation (SLRTC) in the not too distant future will introduce a new means of acquiring and purchasing tickets for their buses called the “Super Agent Ticket Sale.”.
This new technology will comprise the installation of gadgets and equipment like close circuit televisions cameras and other detective instruments into the busses which are referred to as revenue protection equipment.
The Managing Director of buses, Mr. Mohamed Zokar stated that the Super Agent Ticket Sale system is a process wherein the Corporation will sell large quantities of tickets to the agents minimal cost and they in turn will sell to the travelling public and make some profits on the tickets.
He lamented on the habit of passengers standing inside and sitting on top of the engine box of buses which is said is unacceptable.
Mr. Zokar reiterated that the price of government buses is fixed with approval from the House of Parliament and that the buses make no profit but receive annual subsides from the Consolidated Fund.
He pleaded to the public to take good care of the buses as it is their property while calling on them to report any form of mal-practice or misbehavior by their personnel to the Corporation.
