Documents leaked to Sierra Express Media revealed that the former Operations Manager for the Sierra Leone Road Transport Corporation (SLRTC), Mr. Ahmed Wurie Jalloh was unlawfully dismissed in December 2017 because he allegedly discovered a monthly embezzlement of Le300 million by the Corporation’s General Manager (GM), Mr. Bockarie Lewis Kamara (in photo) and team.
According to sources, Mr. James Arthur was retired as Technical Manager on the 23rd June 2014 but again re-employed on the 1st October 2015 as Auto Electrician/Training Manager. Sources further disclosed that this re-employment was compensation as a result of evidence Mr. Steven gave in Parliament that save Mr. Bockarie Lewis Kamara on the procurement of the one hundred Buses.
As a way of inducing the Government Vehicle Recovery Team, Mr. Bockarie Lewis Kamara offered one of the SLRTC’s vehicles with registration number AKU 962 with Mr. Bah as the driver to Madam Kona C. Koroma at State House so as to protect him to stay in office.
There are also evidences of under reporting of the monthly revenues. The total revenues collected for the month is not the exact amount that they normally report to authorities.
Contacting SLRTC GM to respond to allegations, he referred reporters to his Deputy, Emmanuel Tarawallie to respond on his behalf. Reaching the Deputy GM who was caught at the SLRTC entrance by PWD Junction in an official vehicle, He deliberated that he has right to answer to any question that has to with the Corporation but he was not in place to talk to the press and promised to call the following day for his own side of the story but he never attempted to make any call.
