Bangura is one of Sierra Leone’s highest-paid footballers after joining Dalian Yifang FC
Former AIK striker Mohamed Bangura (Pictured) who signed for Chinese League One side Dalian Yifang FC in December 2015 is now one of Sierra Leone’s highest football earners.
Bangura is ready to wear the club’s No 11 jersey is now one of the country’s highest-paid footballers in the world.
Football Sierra Leone understands that the 26-year-old wages are in the region of $815,000 annually.
Bangura after signing the contract said: “It has been a great 2015 season and I wish AIK luck in 2016. As I have understood that I am the player in AIK’s history that brought in the most money to the club and I feel very proud,”
According to fotbolldirekt.se, AIK sporting director Bjorn Wesström has said he feels proud of what Bangura has brought to the club, he was sold to Celtic for SEK 22 million and now a 10 million transfer to China.
“I’m very proud of Mohamed Bangura because I scouted him.”
Wesström also reiterated that “Bangura also becomes financially independent now, the deal only make things better for the former Celtic striker,”
Bangura big money move has also restored AIK’s financial stability; the club already in this January signed three new players to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Allsvenskan season.
Bangura moved to Celtic on a four-year deal in August 2011 but made only 16 appearances and was loaned to Elfsborg.
Few other top notable footballers plying their trade in China are Ghanaian striker Gyan, Brazilian Paulinho and recent Shanghai Shenhua acquisition Demba Ba in the Chinese top flight.
