COI appellants make first appearance! Hearing adjourned to 24th November
Former Minister of Information and Communications, Mohamed Bangura, Dr. Richard Conteh, Sanah Marah, Mohamed Sheriff, Abdulrahman Musa Fofanah, Sahr Wondeh and Samuel O.J. Coker on Tuesday 19th October 2021 made their first appearance before the Appeals Court presided over by Hon. Justice Ivan Sesay, Hon. Justice Adrian Fisher and Hon. Justice Momoh Jah-Stevens.
The appellants filed in their cases against the recommendations of the Commissions of Inquiry, which was set up to look into the activities of the past administration of the All People’s Congress (APC).
Justice Ivan Sesay noted that they will be strict about the timeframe given to lawyers to file in their synopsis.
All cases were adjourned to 24th November, 2021 for oral hearing after counsel should have filed in their synopsis on or before 2nd November, 2021 for the Appellants and on or before 16th November, 2021.
Lawyer Robert Kowa is representing the state while Lawyer Roland Wright, G. F. Kaindaneh, Ady Macauley, Ibrahim Tommy, S.A. Bah and Sulaiman Banja Tejan-Sie are representing the appelants.
Lawyer Macauley informed the court that for the case for Dr. Richard Conteh versus the state, they had earlier on filed in a notice of motion on the 14th December, 2020 and that they will file another motion for fresh evidence.
