2-Week- Old Ebola Survivor Discharged At Hastings Treatment Centre
A two-week-old baby (in photo) together with her mother Isatu Mansaray have received discharged certificates at the Hasting Ebola Treatment Center upon the successful completion of their treatment.
The child got infected with the Ebola virus from her sick mother, Isatu Mansaray few days after delivery.
Isatu Mansaray disclosed that, she was tested positive with the disease close to labor, and the child got infected while breast feeding her few days after delivery. The baby, yet to be named was among 41 survivors that received discharged certificates this week from the Hasting Treatment Centre making a total of 164 Ebola survivors discharged since its inception in September this year.
The other child survivors include two months old Abibatu Kamara and two year old Mohamed Turay.
Highlights of the Discharged ceremony include presentation of gifts and certificates.
