Young Professionals Join the Fight against Ebola

Freetown, Oct. 9, 014 (MOHS) -The Organization Young Professionals headed by the young dynamic renowned Lawyer, Sulaiman Kabba-Koroma has donated assorted food items to 49 Ebola patients that survived the deadly Ebola virus disease at the Hastings Ebola Treatment Centre.  (Photo: Young Professionals President, Lawyer Sulaiman Kabba-Koroma making his statement)

Making the presentation at the Police Training School Keith-Lewis conference hall at Hastings, Lawyer Kabba-Koroma said they comprised a group of young professionals: lawyers, doctors teachers and other professionals of various disciplines that are patriotically committed to the ongoing fight against the Ebola outbreak in the country.

The President of the organization reiterated their commitment to the overall development of Sierra Leone’s health care delivery system, the welfare and wellbeing of citizens as well as the socio-economic development of the country.

In the fight to contain the Ebola viral disease, Mr. Kabba-Koroma reminded his audience that the Ministry of Health and the government alone cannot win the Ebola war, and underscored the importance of collective efforts in meeting the challenges ahead.

He said they have a membership of over 50 young professionals, and pledged to support Ebola orphans, and to wage war against stigmatization.

Deputy Minister II, Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Madam Madina Rahman thanked Young Professionals for the donation, adding the treatment centre has been streamlined and that there are more chances for other survivors.

She also noted the assistance received from the NGO, Medical Research Centre (MRC), which she said would go a long way in forging ahead with the challenges in the fight to contain the outbreak.

The Deputy Minister on behalf of the Ministry and government, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the MRC and Young Professionals, hoping that others would emulate their good works.
