He explained that in their campaign exercise, they teach about how one contracts the disease, how to prevent oneself, where to get treatment and how to identify the symptoms of the disease.

He disclosed that they have reached thousands of people in the communities through their talk show on TUMAC Radio and the Church outreaches.

Mr. Williams maintained that he was convinced that the Government alone cannot win the war against Ebola unless the community people themselves take actions based on the facts that they have been given from these sensitization exercises.

He disclosed that the team of the campaigners which is twenty four in number have been drawn from various Churches in the communities including artists, Journalists and Teachers.

He said he was very grateful to the Director of Lifeline Nehemiah Projects, Mr. Philip Joel Mandewa Cole, who is presently in London for giving his blessing to the campaign.

Mr, Williams revealed that they have visited seven churches since they have launched their campaign on Tuesday 23rd September, 2014 as follows :

  • Divine Global Sanctuary of All Nations, Kuntorloh on 23rd September ,2014;
  • Sammy C’S, Kuntorloh on the 24th September,2014;
  • Jubilee Praise and Worship Centre , Thunder Hill , Kissy Mess Mess, on 25th September,2014;
  • Light of the World ,16 Jalloh Terrace , Brima Lane, Kissy Mess Mess, on 26th September,2014;

  • Redemption Centre, Hill Top, Kuntorloh, on 28th September,2014; and
  • United Pentecostal Church at Albion Street, Kissy on 2nd. October, 2014

In an interview with the Spokesman of the churches, the General Overseer of Redemption Centre at Hill Top in Kuntorloh, Pastor Albert Bob Dimoh , he said they were very appreciative of the sensitization exercises in their churches, as they have greatly changed the mindsets of the members who also take the messages to their homes and communities.

He pointed out that his major concern was the slowness of the responses by both the contract tracers and burial teams.

He said he was also very concerned with the delays in releasing test results of those who had died, raising a lot of controversies in the communities and stigmatizing families and communities, stressing that it will be very necessary to release test results in public in the communities where the people have died so that everybody will know what disease they died of.

Meanwhile, the campaign exercises continue.
