As Efforts to Contain the Ebola War Intensifies, Deputy Health Minister Rebuild Confidence on Front line Health Workers
Freetown, Sept. 24, 014 (MOHS) – The Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation, Madam Madina Rahman has rebuild confidence on frontline health workers at the Ebola Treatment Centre at the Police Training School in Hastings by exhibiting her professional skills as a trained and qualified Senior Nurse. As efforts to contain the Ebola virus disease intensifies, the Deputy Minister during her routine visits to Holding and Treatment Centres including other health facilities, made an on the spot visit to the Police Training School Holding Centre at Hastings, dressed in Personal Protective gears to rebuild confidence on the health workers.
Putting on the protective gears, Madam Madina Rahman said she cannot afford visiting the centre without seeing her nurses at work, and not talking to the patients whom she would like to counsel and restore hope for their survival.
Giving her assessment on the services delivered, the Deputy Minister commended the staff at the centre for their commitment and enthusiasm and encouraged them to continue the good work.
Meanwhile, among the 52 patients admitted at the time of the visit of the Deputy Minister, 15 patients were said to be satisfactorily responding to treatment, with plans to place them in the centre’s recovery room.
