Bangura on rehab
Sierra Express Media Sports can reliably report why Istanbul BB Striker Mohamed Pobosky Bangura was not named by Coach John McKinstry in the 20 man squad that will face Seychelles this weekend in Freetown, during Leone Stars first leg AFCON 2015 qualifiers, was not due to lack of fitness as reported by a cross section of the media in the country but was as a result of a knee operation he underwent two weeks ago in Stockholm and the player is said to be out of action for both his club and country for a period of 8 weeks as instructed by the surgeon.
Bangura who is now on rehab missed the list for Leone Stars home and away matches to Swaziland due to this unfortunate situation and will also miss this first leg due to this operation which was performed in order for him to be fit for the new Turkish Premier League season.
One of the players told Sierra Express Media Sports that Bangura will always love to play for his country anytime he is fully fit as he played most the games.
Bangura who played an active part in Istanbul BB promotion to the country’s top league will have to give himself some proper time to rest to face the new challenge as he is the second Sierra Leonean that will be playing in the Turkish Premier League after Ibrahim Teteh Bangura who played for Bursaspor FC.
