David Simbo in first FA Cup dreamland

Sierra Leone international defender, David Simbo (in photo) is delighted with the prospect of winning his first FA Cup final with his new Al-Hilal Omdurman after reaching the Sudanese FA final defeating Ali Khartoum Sport Club 2-1 on Friday last week.

The Al-Hail defender Simbo hopes to help his side to a start of a trophy-rich period in their history. Host Ali Khartoum Sport takes the lead at their 23,000 seater stadium in Khartoum before Brazilian born Sergio level things up for the visitors.

But it was Sudanese Mohamed Wahider give Al-Hilal Omdurman the victory in the 78th min of play.

“The start of the match was shocking, we would never expect to start the game slow and we went a goal down, but we showed the character desire and spirit of this team to put it right in the end” Simbo told Sierra Express Media Sports UK.

David Simbo has been the best player on the pitch when he has been fit and he was the right man to secure the defence.

“It was a difficult game but today was the day and we have done it, I’m looking forward to my first FA Cup final in Sudan, I hope we win it, (laugh).”

Meanwhile, the other semi-final we play to between Al Merick taking on FC Ahli Shandi for the final place in the Sudanese FA cup.

Al-Halil is the present Sudanese League leader with a point ahead of Al Merick.
