Al Hilal Award David Simbo
Leone Stars and Najran SC utility defender David Simbo has over the weekend received Several awards from officials and Supporters of his former Sudanese club Al Hilal FC for his outstanding contributions to the club where he spent one and half seasons.
Simbo who have just joined Saudi Arabia side Najran SC from Al Hilal in a record but undisclosed deal bag for himself three awards from Al Hilal club official, Al Hilal club Supporters in Khartoum, and Sudanese nationals residing in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking at the Delux hotel in Jeddah Alhaji Hialab said this is payback time as they are paying gratitude to him for his contributions to the club, adding that Simbo is a discipline player who has a lot of qualities on an off the pitch.
As a club we extend our appreciation and gratitude with great happiness for your efforts and devoted energy you gave to the club he noted.
According to him Simbo is a player with high moral character all club would like to have, adding that they never wanted to sell him but at times you have to respect the player decision, we kept on holding talks with him about his contract extension but he decline.
Hailab further maintained that Simbo was one of the club proud asset and it was a tough decision for us to depart at this point but this is football sometime you sell your best player this is the same case with us now.
Simbo was loved by all even the supporters on the street do know him for his fashionable styles on and off the pitch he is going to be missed by all he stressed.
Receiving the awards in tears the Former Mighty Blackpool and Boden player said this is a sad moment for him parting away with a family he had spent about 20 months with, you people have been there for me I will always remembered you in my heart and prayers.
Simbo who hailed his achievements with Al Hilal said he would miss the fans as they are very passionate like the Europeans I will missed everything about Al Hilal Simbo said.
The Leone Stars rocky defender who joined Al Hilal from Swedish second tier side Boden has paved the way for other Sierra Leoneans to play in Sudan or Africa if only they are determined about their trade.
Meanwhile David Simbo and his new Najran SC side are in Turkey on Pre Season were the Sierra Leone will be in action today against Turkish second tier side Kanyonisapor, However Simbo has been the second player after Sierra Leone soccer legend Mohamed Kallon to received multiple of awards from their previous clubs.
