SALWACO’S intervention timely, residents say
Kambia, March 22 (SLENA) – As a direct response to the plea of the people of Kambia through their District Council, SALWACO (Sierra Leone Water Company) is now providing safe drinking water to that part of the country.
According to the station manager, Yakuba Tarawally, the company is giving support to the management and operation of the water system in the district. “We render assistance in the area of fuel supply, chemical and maintenance,” he told SLENA recently, adding “we also provide technical support to the management and distribution of water in the district”.
He said before now there was no water supply in Kambia. “We came in September last year and started the distribution of water to the people. Our intervention has impacted greatly on the lives of the people as there are now few reported cases of cholera outbreak in the district,” the station manager revealed.
